Al-Aqsa Sports Club Hosts Awareness Workshop to Protect Children from Sexual and Electronic Exploitation

In a pioneering step toward enhancing community safety, Al-Aqsa Sports Club organized a critical awareness workshop titled "Sexual and Electronic Exploitation of Children," facilitated by psychological counselor Wesal Al-Badawi from the UNRWA center. The event aimed to equip children and young girls with the essential knowledge to protect themselves from potential risks in both physical and digital environments.

The workshop explored fundamental concepts to build children's awareness, most notably distinguishing between "safe" and "unsafe touch," while emphasizing the values of privacy and modesty. The counselor provided clear guidelines cautioning against the violation of personal boundaries, even among relatives and peers. She strongly reaffirmed every child's fundamental right to reject any behavior that makes them uncomfortable, and the necessity of immediately seeking help from a trusted adult when feeling threatened.

Concluding the session, Al-Badawi encouraged participants to utilize the safe spaces provided by community institutions, foremost among them Al-Aqsa Sports Club. The club serves as a nurturing environment that allows children and youth to positively and healthily channel their energy, express their feelings, and relieve psychological stress. This initiative perfectly aligns with the club’s ongoing mission to promote a culture of protection and provide a supportive environment that ensures the healthy development of younger generations.
